About us

Home Tomorrow is a concierge design studio that helps you achieve a thoughtful and well-styled home, at your budget, within 30 days or less* using our simple process.

The Designers

Post Covid-19 pandemic, we found ourselves at an inflection point in our careers, gravitating home. Our talent is putting the design story together for your home similar to our unconventional story of how Home Tomorrow was born. Throughout our careers, our keen sense of style and appreciation for art, travel, and design influenced many of our decisions in the way we worked to create brands, companies, and merchandise. Home Tomorrow is just another iteration of what we love to do: empower confidence.

We hope you’ll come Home Tomorrow with us and stay for awhile.

Love,
Mimi and Kristin

FAQ

  • Not all interior design studios are created equal and not all interior design studios offer the same services. With that being said, HOME TOMORROW, also known as “HT”, operates as the “in-between” option for those that are looking to update or furnish their rooms (what to buy?!) but need more than hourly advice and are not looking for architectural work or bespoke design and furniture. This is why we are called “concierge”.

HT is personalized to you. We are not a massive platform focused on scale and volume which is code in tech for uniformity and repetition.

We discovered that most people need us and that’s why we’ve made HT accessible because referrals and relationships are how we like to work. Having a home you love is important.

From the floors to the drawers, HOME TOMORROW guarantees that the looks we style for your room will fit beautifully together and you’ll like us a lot.

  • Mimi and Kristin’s diverse background is what makes HOME TOMORROW’s “eye” unique yet practical for authentic living. Being best friends is also a plus. From living in New York City, London, Houston, San Fransisco, and Oakland, they’ve been fortunate to have colorful places to call home.

They are self taught for interior styling while formally taught in business management, finance, graphic design, textiles and fashion design. Their experience in all various forms of design includes starting a global non-profit, furnishing their homes, developing a family winery, launching retail stores, building and exiting consumer-tech startups, and last but not least, serving as Creative Director to multiple fashion and accessory brands (sold worldwide at retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Matches Fashion… and more).

Mimi and Kristin’s past skills are now bundled into the HT package to identify, create, and curate a special place for you to call home.

  • Architectural design renderings, permits, contractor work, project management, hourly design consulting, site visits, order purchasing, order returns, or installing of furniture. Our focus is on the design, curation, and sourcing side so that you can make buying decisions.

  • Our focus is on the design, curation, and sourcing side so that you can make buying decisions. You receive customized layouts options to scale, a draft design presentation of 2-3 styles with variations for furniture, some decor, appliances, and fixtures based on your needs and desires, 1 revision round, and a final design after initial draft feedback, and delivery of final Shopping List to conclude the project.

We pull together and recommend for you:

    • Furniture

    • Decorative objects

    • Accessories and textiles

    • Paint colors

    • Wallpaper

    • Fixtures

    • Layout of Furniture (to scale)

  • These are distinct spaces with one main purpose. Traditional rooms are like bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, mud rooms, bathrooms, home office, play room, powder room, nursery, etc. Pathways like hallways and entryways are each considered a room too. If you are not sure, just ask!

Our flat price is per room regardless of size.

  • In the concierge per room offer, we do NOT manage the renovation process, install, or do architectural renderings and design.

We DO pull together the design look for small renovation projects (no architectural permitting needs), layout (schematic), styling, colors, hardware, fixtures, appliances, and materials.

You are responsible for purchasing the materials and working with your contractor to install to the finished guide.

If you’re in need of something more, please check our Custom section of the website.

  • 1. Have you been turned away from a traditional or full-service interior design firm?

    2. Have you just bought/built a new home and you’re ready to move-in?

    3. Have you grown out of a room in your home or are sick of looking at it?

    4. Are you challenged at decision making?

    5. Do you dream of that Arch Digest home but wake up to a Design With[out] Reach budget?

“Anyone like me who has a general idea of what they want, but needs help in connecting it all and in finding the right furnishings to do so, would greatly benefit from [HT] services.” - Keith A.

  • Yes. Don’t worry, you’ll still feel as if we are “hands-on”.

We serve clients in USA, Canada, and United Kingdom. If you’re local to the Bay Area, we’re happy to visit with you when we can.

  • Each room takes typically 7-14 days to complete. Our track record so far has been as that. This depends on how quickly we receive feedback on the initial design draft, revisions requested, and our client load. Less than 30 days is the safe thing for us to say!

  • Once you’re booked and prior to receiving your first design draft.

  • At the conclusion of the project with HOME TOMORROW, you will receive purchasing links to all the pieces curated in your room. You will manage the buying process to install process on your own. There is no purchasing requirement or time limit on when to purchase with HT. You may also use this list as a guide to find other similar items.

We may receive an affiliate commission on some pieces as a nice bonus tip for us.

We do have trade program discounts depending on your project scope and timeframe.

  • The thousands of online retailers from all around the world are available to us when curating the best pieces for your room. We do source vintage or second-hand but only in specific instances. We do not prioritize any retailers but we have a strong preference of which retailers fit which styles and price points for you. We are constantly on the lookout for new brands!

  • HOME TOMORROW provides the customized tools to guide you towards confident buying decisions. We do not manage the buying process or install process after our project concludes. Our Shopping List is created from the pieces we curated in your room designs to give you full transparency.

We do our best in vetting pieces available to the public but please be aware there are times when the pieces upon arrival do not work out or vendors you purchase from have shipping delays, etc. which are out of our control.

If a product ends up not working out and you want an alternative suggestion, just ping us, and we’ll be happy to see if we can help.

  • We love what we do and it gives us no greater joy than for you to love what we do too.

Our design process is personalized yet simple and efficient so that we can make living beautifully accessible. Each room order comes with a revision round. It’s important to communicate during the 1) Booking consult 2) Project Kickoff Survey 3) Draft feedback round so that we continue to refine our draft into a final design for you.

If something isn’t right, let us know and we can work together to find that Happiness Factor!
